A petition seeking justice over the death of Timothy Adegoke, an MBA student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, Osun State, has been submitted to the Federal House of Representatives.
On Thursday, Oluyemi Taiwo, a member representing Ibarapa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, presented the petition to the house for further consideration.
“I have a petition from Mr. Adegoke Adegbade in an appeal for justice over the death of Mr. Adegoke Timothy Oluwadamilare, who travelled to Ile-Ife OAU to write his MBA exam and was lodged at Hilton Hotel and Resorts in Ile-Ife between 5th and 7th November 2021,” the lawmaker said.
“The dastardly act was carried out in the hotel within the said date, according to police investigation.”
The lawmaker said his petition was to “forestall the perversion of justice”.
Timothy Adegoke, a father of three, was found dead in a shallow grave very close to Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Ile Ife on Monday.
FIJ earlier reported that the lawyers of Rahmon Adedoyin, the owner of the hotel Timothy was lodged before his death, lobbied the deceased’s family for a peaceful resolution.
