26.10.2022 investigations ‘There’s No Forgiveness, You Won’t Go Scot-Free’, Celestial Church Head Tosho Oshoffa Tells Soyombo After Undercover Investigation

Olatosho Oshoffa, head of the international headquarters of the Celestial Church of Christ, has a message for ‘Fisayo Soyombo after his undercover investigation exposing the scam of fake prophecy at his church: there is no forgiveness, there will be consequences, you will not go scot-free.

In January, as part of a wide-ranging undercover investigation about fake prophets at Nigerian churches and islamic institutions, Soyombo, Founder/Editor-in-Chief of FIJ, went undercover at Tosho’s church, pretending to be gay and in need of spiritual redemption.

However, the prophetess who attended to him gave him a series of fake prophecies, asked him to buy ‘work’ materials in church, and instructed him to make a provision for food/snacks and drinks for a horde of prophets.

The eight-month-long investigation took place in four churches and four Islamic centres in total, with one on the Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu, published today. But Tosho thinks the journalist deliberately left his home to come tarnish the image of the Celestial Church, and has warned that unless he asks for forgiveness and unless the prophets are indeed scammers, the journalist will experience vengeance and will not go scot-free.

Speaking on Tuesday during a Facebook live session that, as of press time, had been watched by over 9,000 people, Tosho also launched an impassioned defence of his prophets, insisting that what the journalist termed fake prophecies were released simply because of the “mind” the journalist came to church with. Being a Tuesday and with a crowd of people listening to him as he spoke, it is likely that Tosho was addressing another set of people who had come to ‘open the way’, like Soyombo did back in January.

FULL TEXT OF TOSHO OSHOFFA’S SPEECH

Halleluyah!

We thank God who made this day possible. Glory be to His name.

As you may be aware, you will observe that Ketu’s name is trending on social media about scammer or no scammer.

As you know, each person knows their intention of coming to church. People seek prophets out for direction. It is what is in your mind that you bring to church and declare on the altar, it is compulsory for the prophet to see the same thing… because it is God’s spirit that’s talking.

That man that spoke, as you have come, you may be investigative journalist or anything you may be. But the Celestial Church of Christ is a very open church. We are not an occultic or secret group. And, believe me, anything that has to do with scamming or scammer, I, Ayo Olatosho, detest it.

That’s why I warn you every day that if you have any transaction with anybody after they have ‘sona’ (opened the way) for you, don’t grant their request. Meaning what? I’m not saying my people have been implicated. No!

The prophet that prophesied may be futurist. It is the prophet who saw it it. And the person that wrote this story to the public, nobody forced him to come to Cele, much less Ketu. He walked in freely for his own purpose. That means before he came, he came with a mission, and the mission he came with was maybe to destroy the image of the church, which is quite very unfortunate, because anyone who lies against the Holy Spirit, believe me, the holy book says there is no forgiveness.

Meaning what? They even asked him, “are you satisfied?” By the way, I ask anybody, when you are not satisfied, we normally ask them to redo the process or something else. He consented that he was satisfied and he was the same person who went ahead to do the work.

Suppose that prophet requested him to bring a certain amount of money that he would do some work for him (FS), then he has fallen into a scamming trap. But the journalist himself went out to buy everything with his money. Is that scamming for God’s sake?

Had it been that they used candles of red or black colour and other colours that Cele doesn’t use, that is when people would say, Ketu, they are scamming. Where is the scamming?

If they had told him after that spiritual work that he should bring certain amount of money… and me personally, I’m against special work. Whatever the spirit instructs is what you should do.

What he had in mind for coming… I will not blame my prophets, I’m sorry; I stand to defend my prophets… because they are not scammers. Only if after they had done the work for him, any prophet called him aside to secretly demand money from him.

They asked him to prepare a special feast for the prophets; he bought everything with his money personally. They didn’t collect money from him, promising they wanted to help him buy it. Where is the scamming? Where is the scamming?

I will not blame my prophets, I’m sorry. I will never blame them because for me, what he had in his mind that he took to the prophet was what the prophet saw… because the cande in your hand, once you pray over it… he even said he came as a gay. So, what is the issue?

How did scamming come in? Where did the sheperd call him to say… He even said they brought him to me in the room. My statement is always ‘God bless you’. Anybody that knows me, ‘God bless you’…because without God’s blessing, you can never receive anything.

If any human blesses you but God’s blessing is still absent…the only person who can bless you is your God; it is not prophet or anything at all. It is your God; it is your faith and your relationship with your God. So where is the scamming? Let him (the journalist) come out and speak…probably a prophet called him aside to collect his phone number or provide his account number. Then I will say, yes, we are scammers.

But if there was no prophet who collected money from him, where is the scamming issue? That is why I need to inform you this morning, like I said, anybody may come to church with anything in his or her mind. If you have come for investigation, congratulations. If you have for your own salvation, about how your life will be better, congratulations.

Whatever anybody has come to do in church is what he will receive. But, believe me, nobody tarnishes the image of God innocently without suffering retribution. I have to say it in clear terms. Nobody willingly leaves his abode for God’s house and tarnishes the image of God without suffering retribution. There will be vengeance.

And by the time it is happening, nobody will be there. So, to that gentleman — I will call him gentleman because I don’t know him — who wrote that piece, you entered the wrong place. It is Cele that he entered — it is not another other church but it is Cele that he entered — and wants to destroy the image of Cele.

Believe me, wherever you are, start asking for forgiveness of sins. Wherever you are, whatever your name may be, start asking for forgiveness of sin, because you only left your home with the hope of destroying the image of the church; not for anything else. Nobody does it and goes scot-free.

The Holy Spirit that you lied against, the Holy Book says there is no forgiveness. The Holy Spirit that will judge is alive; and will judge at the appropriate time.

In conclusion, if any of the prophets who worked for him the other day called him secretly to provide an account number for him to send money privately or for any private transaction aside the message the prophet delivered, let him prove it. That is when we will know they are scammers. If there is none, then you should be seeking forgiveness, because he went to buy ìpèsè (special feast). Ìpèsè is anti-Celestial. Offering ìpèsè is not…it is whatever you can afford. And he said he asked for the number of prophets but they told him ‘the number you can provide for’.

And truly, in the service of prophets, we are sometimes more than 200. Buy whatever you can afford. This is a big church! On Sunday, we were more than 2,000. This is a big church! We are not a small church! All to the glory of God.

So, when they asked you to make ìpèsè (special feast) for the prophets, there’s nothing wrong in that. Any amount you have…you yourself were the one who went to buy what you wanted to buy, according to what you wrote; nobody collected anything from you. So why does he want to tarnish the image of the church?

Believe me, wherever you are, my dear brother or my dear son, start asking for forgiveness of sin. Nobody does that in the house of God, much less Cele, and goes scot-free. You can only go without retribution if truly we are scammers. But if we are not scammers, you cannot.

My dear brother or son that wrote that so-called investigative journalist (sic), start asking for forgiveness of sins, because no individual can act without checks in God’s church.

You left your home with a mission to destroy the image of the church. I don’t know who sent you. Whatsoever sent you, all of you entered the wrong place.

We call this place Celestial Church and not only that, international headquarters church, Ketu. Believe me, unless you ask for forgiveness…your parents should start praying for you, because you have sinned against the Holy Spirit and you have sinned against a prophet of God.

I will not say anything else. Wherever you are, go and ask for forgiveness of God.
