Moses David, a resident of Ogun State, has complained about the unhygienic environment in which FoodCo, a popular restaurant in Abeokuta, Ogun State, renders food services to its customers.
David, who visited FoodCo on Tuesday, told FIJ that he found the restaurant’s environment ‘messy and unhygienic’.
He said he called the attention of one of the restaurant’s supervisors and other workers to the mess but they ignored him.
David added that one of his friends had visited the restaurant on Monday and had made a video capturing a very dirty part of the restaurant.

“It is very sad to say this is how dirty FoodCo Akinolugbade Abeokuta is. This is where they are selling food for people [sic],” David’s friend said while making the video.
David said he was shocked when he visited the restaurant on Tuesday and noticed the dirt.
“When I got there yesterday (Tuesday), I was shocked to find that they still have a disorganised environment. Their restroom is also very bad,” he said.
“I had to call someone to ask why it was like that. He did not respond to me. Things are not done this way; they are jeopardising people’s health.
The restroom was bad, it was messy, giving all sorts of odour. On several occasions we’ve called their staff to order, but they insist on nothing in making sure the environment is clean. How can a place like that be so dirty?”

When FIJ contacted FoodCo via its official customer care line, an agent based in Ibadan, who simply identified herself as Nike, said the allegation was false.
“This is FoodCo and we maintain standards over the years and I’m definite that our eating store would never have been left messy. We have regulators,” she said.
“We wouldn’t have been able to have 15 stores if we have been messy.”
When our reporter told her there was a video made at the restaurant, she requested for it, promising an immediate feedback.
She is however yet to give the feedback despite receiving the clip on Tuesday.
