“I go talk say you be cultist.”

“Make we play am rough?,” he asked repeatedly.

“I go fire you talk say you be cultist. I go fire you. Everybody know for Benin. I go fire you. You dey crase? You dey mad?” he repeated aggressively.

Police brutality and maltreatment has continued to thrive in Nigeria despite personal and collective efforts to curb it.

FIJ reported on Wednesday about a man who was abducted by policemen in Lagos in an attempt to get to his cousin whom they suspected had purchased a stolen phone.

In an October report, Amnesty International said that, four years after the 2020 EndSars protest, it has continued to receive reports about the Nigerian police on unlawful detention, extortion, torture and extrajudicial killings almost everyday.
