Worshippers and attendees at ‘The Experience’, a gospel concert organised by the House on the Rock Church Cathedral, Lekki, Lagos, booed the representative of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state governor, on Friday.
Samuel Egube, the governor’s representative and Lagos Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, mounted the stage to address the crowd at the event, but was met with boos by displeased Lagos residents.
The crowd interrupted his speech from the moment he began till he left.

This came days after the state government issued a white paper rejecting the key findings of the Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for Victims of SARS-Related Abuses and other Matters, including the submission that there was a massacre at Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.
The governor called for a ‘walk for peace’, a move widely rejected by those invited and the general public.
