Suspected Fulani herdsmen have destroyed a farmland belonging to a woman in a village in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateu State.

The poor woman woke up on Monday morning to see that the herders had destroyed her crops overnight.

In a video going viral on social media, the woman is seen weeping bitterly to express her sorrow.

“What are we going to do? We don’t have anybody that will help us in this world?” she said as passers-by watched her cry.

“We don’t have anyone except God only. God! Please, have mercy on us, have pity on your children. We don’t have anyone. Nobody is concerned about us. Nobody will help us with anything, not food, not house, they will not consider us. God, have pity on your children.”

Farmer-herder disputes over land resources are mostly between Fulani herders and farmers. The conflict is more devastating in the northcentral part of the country, where farming is the main means of livelihood for citizens.

Fulani herdsmen are the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the world, according to the Global Terrorism Index.
