29.09.2023 Featured JUST IN: Tribunal Affirms Oborevwori’s Election as Delta State Governor

The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed a petition filed by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the March 18 election that produced Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Delta State governor.

According to the tribunal, the petition was found wanting of merit.

Delivering its judgement, Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, the head of the three-member panel, said Oborevwori was properly returned as the winner of the governorship election.

The judge also ruled that Omo-Agege and the APC failed to satisfy the provisions of the law mandating them to prove the allegation of non-compliance with the Electoral Act beyond a reasonable doubt.
