11.07.2021 news Bandits Abduct Emir of Kajuru, 12 Family Members

Armed bandits have abducted Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, the Emir of Kajuru, at his palace in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

The armed gangs invaded Kajuru palace on Sunday, whisking the emir away with 12 of his family members, including women and children.

Saidu Musa, the grandson of the emir, told Daily Trust that the incident happened around 12:30 am.

Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, was not reachable when contacted for reactions.

In the past few days, armed bandits have repeatedly raided Kaduna communities, kidnapping for ransom.

The is following the controversial insistence of Nasir el-Rufai, the Governor of the state, to never negotiate with bandits even if his son was kidnapped.
