For three years, Onumah Chizobah Lilian, a dietitian in Anambra State, saved N10,000 every month with Niger Insurance, but when she ought to get paid in 2018, the organisation held on to her savings of N369,952.

This was reported by FIJ in October, but one month after, the company has done nothing about the payment.

Lilian had detailed how Niger Insurance failed to pay her savings since 2018 despite submitting all the necessary documents to aid the payment.

She started saving N10,000 every month with the organisation in 2016, yet when she needed the money for some emergency, the company failed her.

Speaking with FIJ yesterday, she said: “Even though I have not heard from them all this while, I pray they respond. I am still hopeful that they will return my money.”

FIJ could not get Niger Insurance’s comments, as the text message and email sent to the company had not been responded to at press time. Also, the phone number on its website was not available.
