31.07.2021 news JUST IN: ‘IPOB Members’ Bomb Police Station in Imo

Gunmen believed to be members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have bombed the Njaba Police Station in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

Authorities of the Imo Police Command said the suspected IPOB members attacked around 1:30 am on Saturday, burning parts of the Police Station.

According to Mike Abattam, spokesman of the Police in the state, two members of the separatist group were killed during the operation while the remaining ones ran into the bush.

Abattam also revealed that one Ak 47 rifle was recovered with 10 rounds of live ammunition and a locally made double barrel pistol with two expended cartridges.

“They detonated an Improvised Explosive Device into the parking lots of a nearby Njaba Police Station, causing minimal damage,” he said.
