16.12.2022 Featured ‘Yahoo’ School Proprietor, 13 Students Arrested in Benin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Ese Isaiah, proprietor of a ‘Yahoo’ school, and 13 of his students in Benin, Edo State capital.

The anti-graft agency made the arrest on Thursday, following intelligence on the operations of Isaiah.

The students arrested alongside the proprietor are Alex Aimuanosa, Jeremiah Umoru, Destiny Aghayere, Christian Oghenekevwe, Wisdom Christopher, Daniel Matthew, Gift Patrick, Lucky Paul, Godspower Osatuohien, Edafe Isaiah, John Elvis, Favour Oseghale, and Osas Egho.

The commission also recovered laptops, mobile phones and a Lexus ES350 from Isaiah’s school.

In a statement on its Twitter handle, the EFCC said the suspects “have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded”.
