The Department of State Services (DSS) has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to revoke the bail granted to associates of Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.

The DSS operatives had invaded Igboho’s residence in Soka, Oyo State, killing two and arresting 12 of his aides.

The arrested persons were paraded and later detained in Abuja before they were arraigned in court.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, Igboho’s lawyer, had filed an application on behalf of his aides, asking the court to “inquire into the circumstances constituting grounds of their arrest and detention since July 2, 2021, and where it deems fit admit applicants on bail”.

On August 4, Obiora Egwatu, the presiding judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, granted bail to Igboho’s aides after one month in the custody of the DSS.

Egwatu said the accused persons had a right to liberty and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

However, the DSS has made a fresh application asking the court to revoke the bail granted to the accused persons.

The DSS is also seeking an order of the court “remanding the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 12th respondents/applicants in the custody of the applicants/respondents pending their arraignment during the vacation court”.
