Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, has said the Federal Government intends to lift the ban on Twitter “in a matter of days”.

According to TheNation, Lai said this on Wednesday while briefing newsmen at the end of the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).

The Minister said the matters still to be decided include Twitter setting up an office in Nigeria and having a staff member of management cadre who will serve as the country representative.

He said although Twitter has agreed to set up a Nigerian office, the microblogging platform says the earliest this can be done is in 2022.
