Abducted pupils of Salihu Tanko Islamic School in Tegina, Niger State, have finally regained their freedom after spending 88 days in captivity.
In May, the gunmen kidnapped dozens of adolescent children from Salihu Tanko Islamic School and demanded N150 million ransom from their parents.
Parents of the abductees said they had to sell their belongings to gather up to N50 million paid as ransom to the terrorists.
On Tuesday, six of the abducted children were reported to have died in the bandits’ den.
However, PRNigeria is reporting that the students are on their way to Minna en route to Kagara from Birnin Gwari, where they had been detained in a forest.
FIJ contacted Abubakar Alhassan, headteacher of the school, to confirm the report but his lines were busy.
