18.03.2023 Featured VIDEO: Osun PDP Agent Pays Voters Via PoS

A man simply referred to as ‘Baba Oloye’ was sighted at First Polling Unit, Molete Ward 2, Iwo, Osun State, displaying a Point of Sale (PoS) machine and using it to pay voters who had cast their votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

FIJ learned that Baba Oloye’s task was to see to the monetary compensation of the people that voted for the PDP during the presidential and national assembly elections held on February 25.

Baba Oloye, a man in his sixties, believed to be working for the PDP at the polling unit, carried a record book that contained the names, phone numbers and bank account details of people that belonged in the category of “voters to be compensated”.

While addressing the voters that surrounded him, Baba Oloye said the party was unable to pay people the last time due to the unavailability of cash.

Due to the persistence of the problem, the agent resorted to paying directly into the voters’ accounts.

He explained to the voters that he had exhausted the amount deposited into his Polaris Bank account by his party. He also said that he had to make further payments from his personal account.

He further assured the gathering that they would all get compensated today.

“Once you’re sure your name is in this book I am holding, you will surely get paid today,” Baba Oloye confidently said.
