27.03.2023 Featured INEC Fixes Date for Kebbi, Adamawa Supplementary Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, April 15, for the conduct of all supplementary governorship, state and national assembly elections.

The commission made this known on its official Twitter page on Monday.

Voting is expected to take place in Kebbi and Adamawa states on the said date.

The governorship elections in the two states were declared inconclusive by INEC because the cancelled votes were more than the margins between leading candidates.

INEC declared the Kebbi State governorship election inconclusive following the cancellation of results of polling units in 20 of the 21 local government areas of the state.

In Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP, the incumbent governor, is slugging it out with Aisha Dahiru of the APC.

So far, the incumbent governor has 421,524 votes against Dahiru’s 390,275. Fintiri was leading his counterpart with over 30,000 votes before the election was declared inconclusive.
