Kidnappers of two students of Kogi State Polytechnic and staff of the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) in Kogi State have demanded a ransom of N1million to free abductees, FIJ can report.

At about 8pm on Sunday, the trio were abducted within the Living Faith Church at Osara, Adavi Local Government Area of the state during a voice training.

Speaking with FIJ on Wednesday afternoon, Omeiza Balogun, the spokesman of the university, noted that the school was collaborating with the security officers in the state to secure the release of the abductees without any payment of ransom.

“They demanded a ransom of N30 million and later reduced it to N25 million, N15 million, up to one million naira,” he said.

“But, for now, the security agents are trying so hard to ensure there is no exchange of money before the abductees are rescued.”

William Aya, the spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, didn’t answer  FIJ’s calls for comments and was yet to respond to the text message sent.
