The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Hafsat Ganduje, wife of Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State, for alleged bribery and land fraud.

Mrs Ganduje was arrested on Monday, after failing to honour an invitation sent to her by the anti-graft agency on September 13, according to a report by Premium Times.

Her ordeal, according to sources, began after Abdulazeez Ganduje, her son, told the agency he paid over N35 million to her after a property developer approached him to help facilitate land acquisition in Kano.

However, the developer soon discovered that the plots of land he wanted to purchase had been allocated to other buyers.
