12.03.2024 Featured Gunmen Kill 7 in Fresh Plateau Attack

Unknown gunmen killed seven people and injured an unverified number of residents when they attacked Zurak Campani in the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.

According to Eons Intelligence, a national security monitoring group, the armed criminals struck at around 2 pm.

The terrorists invaded the Wase market on motorcycles and randomly shot at traders and buyers. They terrorised their victims without resistance. Seven of the people hit by bullets died.

This was yet another terrorist attack in the troubled Plateau State since a massacre in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu LGA on Christmas Eve.

FIJ detailed the killing of hundreds of residents between Bokkos and Barkin Ladi alone.

No fewer than 30 residents of Mangu died in a brutal attack on their communities in January.

FIJ learned that the violence commenced when some Fulani men attacked two Mangu indigenes on a bike near a military checkpoint.

Local government areas in Plateau remain under threat of sudden guerilla terror attacks to date.
