Unknown persons gruesomely murdered Colonel Abdullahi Hassan Alli and other soldiers in Okuama on March 14.

Okuama and Okoloba, neighbouring communities, had been in the middle of a protracted conflict.

The army has since taken over Okuama and turned it into a military zone.

Journalists and police authorities are unable to reach the community because the army forbids it.
