The gunmen who abducted three students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) on Thursday, March 28, have demanded N14 million to release two.

A source told FIJ that the kidnappers demanded N6 million to release Damilola Dickson and N8 million for Ugwu Chukwuemeka, who are genetics and biotechnology department students.

Although FIJ’s source at the school could not ascertain the exact amount the kidnappers requested for Ojang precious Ebejin, the 200-level student of medicine and surgery, he revealed that it was also millions.

“They (the kidnappers) are communicating with the parents of the students. I don’t know for certain the amount they want for the third student, but it’s also millions of naira,” the source told FIJ.

FIJ earlier reported that the abductors shot rapidly into the air as they abducted three students from their hostel and sped off via a river.
