In the early hours of Friday, a group of Fulani herders laid siege on Te’egbe, a village in the Miango District of Plateau State, killing ten villagers and injuring many others.

The attackers also invaded the residence of the Operation Safe Haven soldiers, burning houses and food barns.

The Fulani herders infiltrated Te’egbe, through Baduru, a porous border in Southern Kaduna, to raid the armless villagers.

“Most of the people were killed in their sleep,” a village elder told FIJ. “The Nigerian Army and other team members of the Task Force also tried to  resist the attackers but the fire was too massive for them to overcome.”

On Wednesday, FIJ reported how the attackers outsmarted the Nigerian Army along Rotsu Road to behead three farmers.

After interviews with locals in Miango community, FIJ compiled names and photos of victims of the attack.

“What is happening there is an act of criminality and the Nigerian Army is doing its best to stop it,” said Ishaku Takwa Sebastian, the spokesman of Operation Safe Haven. “If you must know, these attackers are coming from Kaduna and the areas are mostly farms. Are we then going to have soldiers stationed inside the farms?”
