The Lagos State Government on Tuesday issued a ‘white paper’ on the report submitted by the state Judicial Panel of Inquiry for Restitution for Victims of SARS-Related Abuses and Other Offences.

The report comes two weeks after the panel submitted its findings and recommendations.

When asked about the delay, Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the state governor, told FIJ that the state began its two-week count from November 16, a day after the panel submitted its report.

FIJ earlier exclusively reported names, ranks and other details of policemen indicted by the report, as well as the police officers compensated for brutality meted by hoodlums during the protests.

FIJ understands the white paper is only available in the state ministry of information, as the government is trying to “manage the flow of information” regarding the document.
