Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have gone into hiding as students of the Ojodu Senior Grammar School attempt to lynch them.

On Tuesday, our reporter observed a student attempting to attack an official at the Berger Bus Stop. He was, however, prevented by passersby who took the official away from the scene.

Upon escaping unharmed, the official removed his uniform, put it in his backpack and retained a white vest to mask his identity.

Residents in the area confirmed to FIJ that the students had been seeking out LASTMA officials since Tuesday, over their alleged involvement in a collision between a truck and multiple students of the school, leaving some dead and many injured.

Eyewitnesses said the accident happened on Ogunnusi road, Ojodu, at about 2:30 pm when a truck driver trying to avoid inspection by some state agents drove recklessly and ran his truck over students on their way home.
