Timothy Adegoke, the MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, who died under mysterious circumstances in November, was buried in his hometown, Eruwa, in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, amid tears on Saturday.

The funeral, which had several family and friends of the Adegoke family in attendance, was officiated by prophets from the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), where Timothy was a member until his death.

While speaking with FIJ on Sunday, Olugbade Adegoke, elder brother of the deceased, said burying the 37-year-old father of three does not mean the family has given up on getting justice for his brother.

Timothy Adegoke’s Burial

“The fact that we have buried my brother does not mean that we have given up on the ongoing case. As a matter of fact, this is just the beginning. What we have just done is to ensure that my brother is given a proper burial, and to avoid having his body to continue to lie unnecessarily at the morgue,” he said.

“Also, before we decided to bury him, we were told by the Nigeria Police that his body was no longer required in their ongoing investigation. So, there is no cause for alarm. We have absolute confidence in the police.”
