Dr. Igudia, a Nigerian ‘herbal doctor’, has given FIJ a condition before he would cure a Mauritian diabetic he once defrauded of $880 in early April.

He asked that FIJ unpublishes a report that exposed him when he defrauded Louise Michel (not real name), a Mauritian, who paid him $880 to buy one of his ‘herbal cures for diabetes’.

Igudia reached out to FIJ on Friday saying he had resolved to send the medication to the diabetic but wanted the media outfit to “delete the earlier published story from Google first”.

“Right now, the person and I have resolved the issue. So, I want the story to be taken down,” Igudia told FIJ.

“We agreed on me sending him the medication, so you guys [sic] should go to your website and take down the news that you published.”

Igudia said it was only on the condition he had just given that he would make the medication Michel had originally paid for available.

“It is not fair what you guys [sic] published without my consent. You will take it down. We have to come to an agreement here. As soon as I send him the medication, you guys [sic] will not take it down, and you are spoiling my name,” Igubia said.

FIJ later learnt that the ‘herbal doctor’ indeed reached out to Michel, but they never came to any agreement. He only asked Michel to help him retract the published report.

There is also no proven permanent cure for diabetes.
