Oluwafemi Edem, an operations analyst based in Oyo State, has narrated how he was kidnapped in Ibadan and met himself in Ogun State, where he finally escaped.

Edem said he woke up on the morning of December 8, 2020, to visit his younger sister who works at Joke Plaza, Bodija, Ibadan. Unfortunately, a few minutes after entering a taxi, he lost consciousness.

“I saw a Micra cab calling ‘Bodija’. I waved to stop it. When I entered, I was in the back seat with a woman. After we moved, another passenger joined us. There were three of us in the back seat,” he told FIJ.

“The cab was at its maximum capacity and we were ready to move. We got to the General Gas bridge, and that was the last thing I saw until I woke up and found myself almost naked, with just my shorts and singlet on me.”

Edem said his hands were tied up with rope, but fortunately, he was able to untie himself.

“I was shocked to find myself somewhere I didn’t know. I saw blood on the ground. When I looked around, I discovered that the woman and the man who had been in the back seat with me appeared to have been killed,” he said.

He said he could hear his abductors speak to someone who seemed like the buyer of his soon-to-be-dismembered body, and this made him run for his life.

“So I started running into the bush. Not like I knew where I was going, but I just wanted to run as fast as possible away from the place,” he said.

“I got to an untarred road, but I couldn’t see any bus, cab, or bike. I was praying in tongues under my breath.”

He kept running until he got to a tarred road where he saw a motorcyclist approach. He signaled to him to stop and narrated his experience.

“He asked where I was going, and I told him Bodija. But he said he did not know the place. He later asked which state I was talking about. I told him I was from Ibadan, Oyo State. It was there that I discovered I had been taken far away from home. I was in Ogun State,” said Edem.

“He volunteered to take me to Ibadan Park, which he did. He paid my fare and got me a bottle of water because I was really thirsty. I got back to Ibadan around 2:30 pm, and everything I narrated happened within six hours.

“That was how I got saved from the ritualists.”
