The 27 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, released on Wednesday have reunited with their relatives.

The students, who were among the 37 abducted in a bandit attack on their school on March 11, spent two months with abductors before their freedom.

Bandits had released a video of the students being flogged, and subsequently demanded for N500 million ransoms from government.

Following their release, parents of the abducted students appealed to the government to ensure provision of proper rehabilitation to enable the students overcome the trauma that may have accompanied their experience.

Earlier on Friday, the students were taken to the Police Workshop Hospital in Kaduna for medical checkup ahead of the reunion after Jumaat prayers.
