24.06.2022 Featured ICPC Recovers N170m Cash, G-Wagon From Military Contractor

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has recovered N170 million cash, $220,965, a G-Wagon and other items from a military contractor in Abuja.

Via its official Twitter handle, @ICPC_PE, the anti-graft agency on Friday made the disclosure.

It said on Thursday, June 16, on suspicion of money laundering, its operatives raided a property in the Wuse 2 area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) between 5 pm and 12 am.

“Facts available for the time being indicates that the property is owned by owner of K Salam Construction company, a military contractor,” ICPC stated.

“The Commission recovered money and other items from the property viz: N170 million cash, $220,965, a G-Wagon, 2022 BMW and Mercedes Benz cars, customized mobile phones, several designer wristwatches, including three Rolexes, and some property documents.”

Checks by FIJ show that K Salam Construction Company has two directors listed in the official document of its registration. These directors are Muhammed Ahmed Sallau and Sallau Kabiru.

The company was registered in April 2014.

Earlier, some media platforms alleged that the property belong to Tukur Buratai, a former Chief of Army Staff.
