The Abuja-Kaduna highway has been blocked by protesting residents of Suleja, a town one hour away from the Federal Capital Territory, in Niger State.
The residents are protesting against overwhelming attacks from bandits in the town.
According to eyewitnesses, protesters have made a bonfire along Abuja-Kaduna Highway, consequently preventing commuters from navigating the road.

There are speculations that bandits and other terror groups are infiltrating the FCT but the police have claimed many times that the city is safe from such attacks.
On Friday, FIJ reported how not less than 10 residents of Rafin Sanyin in Suleja were abducted by bandits. This created fear that the FCT, Nigeria’s seat of political power, is prone to attacks.
