The inhabitants of Agoro, in the Ijoko region of Ogun State, have denounced the various crimes perpetrated by Yusuf Ologundudu, the son of an indigenous chief in the community.

Yusuf, considered by many to be a cultist, has been involved in various armed attacks and suspected killings in the area, a source told FIJ.

The source, who pleaded anonymity for fear of attacks, said that Yusuf walks around with a gun during the day.

He said, “One of the recent acts perpetrated by this Yusuf was at Ogo-Oluwakiitan Street, Alafia Estate, Kajola Road, Agoro, Ijoko Ogun State, where he shot a guy dead last week Tuesday. After evacuation of the corpse by the police officers from Ntabo Police Station, Yusuf still walks free in the area.

“He perpetrates many of his criminal acts during the day without fear of being caught or arrested. Even house owners and tenants fear to report for fear of being attacked or killed.”

A resident of the area also told FIJ that Yusuf’s matter had been reported to Ntabo Police Station, Sango Area Command, by the people of the community on several occasions.

“His matter has been reported by communities at Ntabo police post severally, but when arrested, he is released after a few hours or days.

“He constantly harasses residents in the area and collects their phones forcefully. Any refusal could lead to assault or death of the person.”

Ijoko residents now live in fear as many are relocating due to insecurity.

FIJ called Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, but he declined to comment and hung up. FIJ also sent a text message to him, but as of press time, he had not responded.
