Kadetu Briamah, the team lead at the Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) of the Kwara State Police Command, has just been transferred to Kulende Police Division, FIJ can exclusively confirm.

Kadetu was the head of the bureau where Glorious Babatunde and Shola Akano worked before their illegal dismissal in July 2020.

FIJ’s investigation established that the two officers were sacked because of their attempt to expose the cover-up of a car theft gang by some of their superiors.

While FIJ’s reports on the cover-up had generated massive changes in the Kwara Command, the Police are yet to review the proceedings that led to the dismissal of Babatunde and Akano.

A source, however, confirmed that Kadetu’s transfer was based on the Command’s erroneous assumption that she spoke with FIJ about the scandalous release of stolen cars to suspects. At no time did FIJ speak with Kadetu.

“Some superiors in the command believe she was the one who leaked the fact about the release of one of the stolen cars to suspects to the press,” the source said.

Based on the several recordings obtained independently, FIJ can confirm that Adegboyega Oyeleye, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin), had been making sexual advances to Kadetu, the latest of which was only two weeks ago.

Kadetu is currently in shock and therefore still unable to speak with the press about the matter.

On Friday, FIJ had tried to speak with Oyeleye on the car theft cover-up, but he responded angrily over the phone.

On different occasions that FIJ engaged Ajayi Okasanmi, the Kwara Police spokesman, over this case, he had invited our reporter to a meeting at the Command in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state.
