United Bank of Africa (UBA) has made a refund of N196,107 to George Ndu, one of its customers, after he lost the funds due to no fault of his

Ndu had recently accused the bank of insider theft when N220,818 suddenly vanished from his account on September 12.

The customer confirmed this development to FIJ on Thursday, saying that he received the credit alert on Tuesday.

“Thank you, FIJ, for your assistance. I just thought I should let you know that I have been given N196,107 out of my N220,818. Thank you; I am very grateful. God bless you,” a happy Ndu said.

On November 12, FIJ had reported how Ndu had received multiple debit alerts after unknown persons stole N220,818 from his UBA account.

Despite Ndu’s efforts in getting UBA to help him on the matter, the bank had said it was not complicit in the disappearance of the money.

“I’m glad to inform you that Mr Ndu got back a huge chunk of his deducted money from UBA. We are grateful for all the efforts you put into getting the story out. May God continue to elevate you. Thanks and God bless,” Okoh Uboh, Ndu’s lawyer, said to FIJ.
