Major-General Hassan Ahmed, the former Provost Marshall of the Nigerian Army, has been killed in Abuja.

Ahmed was travelling alongside a relative (initially thought to be his wife but later reported to be his sister) on Thursday night at Abaji area in Abuja, when he was attacked. They were coming from Okene, Kogi State.

Daily Post reported that the assailant opened fire on the vehicle he was travelling in.

Until his death, Ahmed was the Director at the Army Headquarters in Abuja

The Nigerian Army is yet to issue out a statement on his death. Ahmed’s death comes barely two months after Lt. Gen. Attahiru Ibrahim died in a plane crash in Kaduna.
