10.10.2022 news Police Arrest Robbery Gang of Brothers Terrorising Ogun Community

Three brothers and one other person have been arrested by the police in Ogun State for being behind many armed robbery incidents in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

This was made public in a statement released by the state police command on Monday.

The police said Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo, three brothers, and Tosin Ogundeko, a fourth suspect, were arrested after getting a distress call from a resident that the suspects had invaded a shop belonging to a premier lotto agent at Odi Olowo area of Ijebu-Ode.

They were said to have robbed the agent of N90,000.

“The robbers also snatched a Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth. Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them by name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered,” the statement reads in part.

“The arrest of Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State where the remaining three were apprehended, while one of them simply identified as Tosin a.k.a Socket escaped.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed been responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in Ijebu Ode and its environ. They confessed further that they are all based in Epe but chose Ijebu ode as their area of operation.

It was also stated that a locally made gun and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.
