The Nigeria Police are currently investigating five officers filmed assaulting some road users in Edo State.

In a video that went viral on Thursday, two ladies and a man were seen engaging in a hot debate with the police officers.

At the height of the engagement, one of the officers shot twice on the ground near one of the ladies. At another time, a gun-wielding policeman slapped one of the ladies.

While the three-minute video could not establish what led to the assault, the unprofessional conduct of the officers was clear.

“They are currently being held in the detention facilities of the state CID. The case is being investigated by the X-squad unit of the command.”
