Benjamin Iyanam, an Uber driver, has told FIJ that persons affiliated with Ifeoluwa Ogunjemilusi, the Babcock University student who bashed his vehicle, have been calling him with strange numbers.
Iyanam, whose vehicle Ogunjemilusi hit on Ozumba Mbadiwe road in Lagos on August 27, 2022, said he made several futile attempts to reach her for compensation and even reported the matter to the police but she was evasive.
He said he made attempts to reach her via social media but persons who claimed to be her relatives demanded that he stop talking about it.

FIJ reported the incident on March 30, 2023, and Iyanam said the contacts went from responding to him on social media to asking that the story be deleted in exchange for a resolution.
He said they called him directly before going on to call with private numbers and one introduced himself as Mr James.
“I told the man that I spent over N400,000 on repairs and the lady was supposed to compensate me,” Iyanam told FIJ. “I told him I had already reported to the police and asked that they show up at the station, but he began demanding that I get the story off the internet.
“He refused to explain how he was connected to the lady but maintained that he would only get back to me if I had the story deleted.
“After our first conversation, he began calling me with private numbers.”
FIJ called Mr James on Friday. He said he was unable to speak at the time. FIJ sent a message afterwards, and he replied saying, “You don’t have any right to call my line.”
FIJ’s calls and messages to Ogunjemilusi remained unanswered and ignored as of press time.
