24.04.2024 Featured Homeless Man Charged With Murder of British Nigerian

Leandro Kaienga, a homeless man, has been charged with the murder of Okechukwu Iweha, a British-Nigerian.

According to the BBC, Kaienga, 28, was arrested on Monday by the Metropolitan Police. The homeless man is expected to make his first appearance at Willesden Magistrates’ Court, London, on Wednesday.

Kaienga was also charged with the possession of a knife.

On April 9, FIJ reported how Iweha, 46, was stabbed to death outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London in the early hours of April 7.

The incident happened hours before the North London-based football club’s English Premier League home game against Nottingham Forest.

Police and paramedics who later rushed to the scene found a lifeless Iweha with a number of stab injuries.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. The Metropolitan Police would later confirm that Iweha was a resident in the area.

Days before Iweha was murdered, Prince Walker-Ayeni, a British-Nigerian teenager, had been stabbed to death by three teenagers in Manchester. The perpetrators of the crime were later arrested on April 12.
