Serhiy Haidai, the Governor of Luhansk, Ukraine, has said that it is yet impossible to evacuate people out of Sievierodonetsk, a Ukrainian city where fierce fighting with Russian troops continues.
Guardian reported that Haidai revealed this on Telegram on Thursday.
“Silence in Sievierodonetsk lasts only when guns are reloaded. Street fights continue in the regional centre,” Haidai was quoted to have written.
“Russians adhere to their primitive tactics: heavy artillery fire, then – attempts to break through. The same thing happened in the already destroyed Rubizhne and Popasna. The enemy is powerfully pursuing the industrial zone, which we control.

“If we quickly get western long-range weapons, an artillery duel will begin, the Soviet Union will lose to the west, and our defenders will be able to clean up Sievierodonetsk in two or three days.
“Evacuation from Sievierodonetsk is still impossible, as is the transportation of goods. Currently, the hospital has everything necessary to stabilise the wounded.”
Oleksandr Stryuk, Mayor of Sievierodonetsk, said about 10,000 civilians remain in the city.
Sievierodonetsk is located towards the northeast of the left bank of the Siverskyi Donets River. The city is approximately 110 km to the northwest from the Oblast capital, Luhansk.
