The Labour Party (LP) has deleted a tweet on its official handle announcing the release of its presidential campaign manifesto, titled ‘Our Pact with Nigerians: Creating a New Nigeria’.
The announcement was made on Monday morning, barely two hours after Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, disowned the #OURPACTWITHNIGERIA manifesto that was circulating online as the party’s manifesto.
In his tweet, Obi urged Nigerians to dismiss any manifesto that was not made public by him, noting that it was an earlier edition of the manifesto that had been leaked.
Despite this, LP went ahead to publicly announce the manifesto’s release, and tagged Obi in the post. LP subsequently withdrew its update.
