Sammie Okposo, the gospel artiste who hit stardom in 2000 for his song ‘Welu Welu’, passed away in the early hours of Friday morning, FIJ can report.

The 51-year-old, according to sources, slumped and died in his home.

Details of any underlying health challenges remain unknown to FIJ as of press time.

On Friday afternoon, Jephthah Bowoto, popularly known as Akpororo, took to his Instagram page to post a seemingly cryptic message.

His post read, “This one enter me,” and was accompanied by a caption which read, “Kai, e pain me“.

Okposo is survived by a wife and child.
