Akomolafe Adejoke, an Ondo State resident, has narrated how Choice Gabriel, who runs The Choice Collectibles, an online store, defrauded her of N32,000 meant for the purchase and delivery of a pair of shoes and handbag.
On Monday, Adejoke told FIJ she paid for the blue-colour shoes on January 3 and they were to be delivered to her on January 6, according to an agreement she had with Gabriel, who claims to have her physical address at Shop 32, Emmanuel Plaza, Osogbo, Osun State.
Adejoke said Gabriel blocked her line and also blocked her on social media.

“I came across The Choice Collectibles page on Facebook with a stock of amazing shoe pictures and t-match handbags. I picked interest in a blue one. I reached out to the vendor via WhatsApp and discussed payment method and delivery of the product,” Adejoke explained.
“She provided me a Palmpay account number belonging to one Faithful Chidinma Philip, and I sent N32,000.
“I was supposed to get the products on Friday, but she didn’t fulfill the contract I had with her. All I got thereafter was that she blocked me on WhatsApp and I could not contact her on phone again.
“I would say I had a premonition about it. When I saw the array of shoes she displayed on Facebook, I almost loved all of them and I wanted to buy two.
“I only applied caution when I wanted to pay. Now, I have been proven right.
“Having met my own side of the bargain, I expected her to do hers. But it is painful that she decided to do this to me. I think she was out to do this from the outset.”
When contacted on phone on Monday, Gabriel told FIJ that she was disappointed by the company that was supposed to send the shoes to her and asked that Adejoke send her account details for a refund.
Adejoke called her on Monday and sent her account details, but no refund at press time.

FIJ earlier reported on December 17 how Gabriel defrauded Elsie Alonge Olufunmilayo, an Ekiti State resident, who also ordered a pair of shoes together with a handbag.
Gabriel blocked and blacklisted Olufunmilayo. He also neither delivered the order nor refunded her N33,000.
