Kuda, a fintech company, has refunded N40,000 to Mobolaji Obadara, whose money was withheld after paying for a failed New Year’s Day order.

Obadara told FIJ on Thursday that he had got his money in full.

“Kuda has refunded me,” he said.

FIJ had reported how Obadara paid N40,000 for a pair of stereo earbuds Jumia could not deliver because it was out of stock. 

Jumia processed a refund for Obadara, who had paid through a Kuda Bank account.

On January 6, Jumia told Obadara that it had completed the refund process for his failed order. Jumia sent proof of the completed refund transaction to Obadara and told him to contact his bank.

Obadara confirmed Jumia sent the proof of refund and then directed him to his bank to inquire about the missing fund. 

After receiving multiple mails, Kuda told Obadara that his complaint had been looked into, but failed to release the money.
