The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed off a property belonging to Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano State.
Some of those who witnessed the sealing off in Miller Road, Kano, told Daily Trust that the action followed a petition by family members of Ismaila Gwarzo, a former National Security Adviser, over an undue sale of the property.
During his time as Nigeria’s Defence Minister in 2006, Kwankwaso was accused of awarding fraudulent contracts, an allegation he promptly denied.
In 2019, Abdullahi Ganduje, the incumbent Governor of Kano State, also vowed to investigate Kwankwaso for the alleged diversion of N3.08billion meant for road projects in the state to his 2015 presidential campaign.

Ganduje, who was Kwankwaso’s deputy while serving as Governor of Kano State, said 90 percent of the total sum was provided by the 44 local governments in the state while 10percent was provided by the state government.
