Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has defeated Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate; and Atiku Abubakar, the flag-bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Abuja.
Obi swept victory in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 281,717 votes against the APC’s 90,902 and the PDP’s 74,199, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The LP candidate won in four of the six area councils in the FCT, while the APC won two.
In Abuja Municipal, Obi got 170,392 votes, while the APC and the PDP came behind with 29,596 and 26,407 votes respectively.
In Gwagwalada, the parties got 19,694, 15,890 and 10,987, with Obi taking the lead and the APC polling second.
For Bwari Area Council, LP led with 67,198 votes. The APC got 13,156 votes and the PDP got 10,835.
Also in Kuje, Obi polled 14,257 votes against the APC’s 10,648 and the PDP’s 10,028 respectively.
The presidential candidate of the APC won in Kwali and Abaji. In Kwali, he led Atiku and Obi with 11,242 votes. His opponents came behind him with 9,054 and 7,302 votes.

In Abaji, the APC scored 10,370 votes, the PDP scored 6,888 votes and the LP got 2,847.
