On a Friday in 2012,
Four friends landed in the bloodthirsty hands of a mad mob.
The mob did a trial and found them guilty.
Necklaces woven with car tyres dripping fuel adorned their necks,
And the scorching heat of flames escorted the Aluu four to their death.

You shake your head in disgust.
But what can you do, eh?

On a Thursday in 2022,
Deborah found death among classmates and known faces.
The bloodthirsty fanatics itched for a scapegoat.
She ‘blasphemed’ her way into doom,
And death came for her in the cover of a fiery fire.
Her last sight was the maniac glee on their familiar faces.

You shake your head in disgust.
But what can you do?

Tope met his death on an Easter Monday.
His vehicle killed two people.
There were whispers and rumours;
Some said he was a fraudster, others dubbed him a ritualist.
With stones, an angry mob stripped him of life.
His mother said he would never hurt a fly.
But,
The die is cast.
