Idowu Awo, lawyer to the Department of State Services (DSS), on Wednesday told a federal high court in Abuja that the case file of a suit involving 12 aides of Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, was stolen by armed men.

While addressing the court, Awo said his colleague who was to bring the case file to the court had boarded a vehicle belonging to robbers, commonly known as “one chance”.

According to TheCable, the lawyer also claimed that his colleague’s belongings, including the case file were taken by the armed robbers.

As a result of this, he prayed the court for an adjournment.

The court session had earlier been scheduled to hear a fundamental human rights suit filed against the DSS by the 12 aides, with which they seek a N100million compensation for aggravated and exemplary damages against the DSS for the serial breach of their constitutional rights.

It was earlier gathered that the DSS had, in a separate suit, filed terrorism charges against two detained aides of Igboho.

The DSS was reported to have filed five terrorism charges against Noah Oyetunji and Amudat Babatunde, two of Igboho’s aides who are still in detention.

The security agency is charging Oyetunji with possession of firearms for terrorism-related activities, while Babatunde was said to have promoted terrorism through her Facebook account.

No date has been fixed yet for the hearing.

So far, 10 out of the 12 aides who were initially arrested have regained freedom after spending over 60 days in detention, following their arrest on July 1.
