Charles Osaigbovo and Evans Obayaedo, Oyo State residents, have been arrested for defrauding an unnamed British woman of £38,000 after impersonating Fredrick Leonard, a Nollywood actor and movie producer.

Osaigbovo and Obayaedo obtained the money for the production of a non-existent film.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed on Friday that the duo were arrested this month in Ibadan, following a petition written against Leonard by a British woman.

“The petitioner alleged that she met Leonard on the social media platform, TikTok, and later became lovers,” EFCC said.

“She also alleged that Leonard approached her with a proposal to invest in a film production.

“According to her, a sum of £38,000 was transferred to the suspects as investment in the purported film production.”
