17.09.2021 news JUST IN: Court Orders Resident Doctors to Suspend Strike

The National Industrial Court (NIC) has ordered the immediate suspension of the strike action embarked upon by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

The court gave the order on Friday and stated that it be effected immediately.

On August 1, resident doctors embarked on an indefinite strike over irregular payment of salaries and hazard allowances, among others.

The federal government had threatened jail term for doctors who took part in the action.
