15.10.2023 Featured 11 Journalists Confirmed Dead in Israeli–Hamas Conflict

At least 11 journalists have been killed in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (Hamas), a Palestinian armed group.

According to The New York Times, nine out of the 11 deceased journalists were Palestinians, one was an Israeli and one was a Lebanese.

Journalists reported to have been killed in the fresh conflict which started on October 7 include Issam Abdallah, a videographer with Reuters, Mohammed Soboh, a photojournalist with Palestinian news agency Khabar, and Said al-Tawil, the editor of the independent Palestinian TV news channel Al Khamissa.

Other victims are Hisham al-Nawajha, an Al Khamissa photojournalist, Ahmed Shehab, a journalist working for Sowt Al-Asra Radio and Mohamed Fayez Abu Matara, a freelance photojournalist.

Also among the dead are Ibrahim Lafi, a Palestinian photojournalist with the Ain Media, Mohammad Al-Salihi, a freelance photojournalist reporting for the Palestinian news agency al-Sulta al-Rabia and Mohammad Jarghoun, a journalist with Smart Media.

Ibrahim Mohammad Lafi, also a photographer for Ain Media and Yaniv Zohar, an Israeli photographer working for the Israeli Hebrew Language daily newspaper Israel Hayom, are also part of the 11 journalists confirmed to have been killed during the bloody conflict.

Some of the deceased journalists were said to have been victims of airstrikes and gunshot wounds.
